Khosrow Mirza

Prince Khosro Mirza (1811 – 1883), Persian Prince of Qajar Dynasty, was the 7th son of Abbas Mirza and brother of Djahangir Mirza.
In 1829 Alexander Griboyedov, the Russian diplomat and play writer was killed in the encirclement of the Russia embassy in Tehran. To apologize for this incident Fath Ali Shah sent Khosro Mirza to Saint Petersburg, where he gave the Shah Diamond to the Russian Tsar Nicholas I.
In 1832 Ghaem Magham Farahani imprisoned him at Ardebil. He was blinded there by the order of his brother, Mohammad Shah Qajar. He died in 1883 at the age of 72.
A young Khosrow Mirza is briefly depicted in Alexander Sokurov's 2002 film Russian Ark. The film also portrays Khosrow's elaborate ceremonial apology before the Russian Tsar.
